Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The SLP will work with students across various grade levels to diagnose and treat speech, language, and communication disorders. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping students achieve their full potential through individualized therapy and collaborative efforts with educators, parents, and other specialists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in groups.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise on speech and language goals and progress.
  • Stay up-to-date with current best practices, research, and technology in the field of speech-language pathology.
  • Adhere to all school policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Pennsylvania Speech-Language Pathologist license.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Educational Specialist certification in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, child abuse clearance, and FBI fingerprinting.
  • Compliance with continuing education requirements to maintain licensure and certification.
  • Current CPR certification is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a school environment.
  • Must be able to manage a caseload of students with varying needs.
  • Occasional lifting of materials and equipment up to 25 pounds may be required.
