Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The SLP will work within the school setting, providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for students with communication and swallowing disorders to ensure their academic success and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on evaluations.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student progress.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided and student progress.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop strategies for student success.
  • Stay current with evidence-based practices and integrate them into therapy sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Pennsylvania state license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) certification for Speech-Language Impaired services.
  • Clearances required for working in schools, including:
    • PA Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
    • PA Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
    • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check (Act 114)
  • Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of speech and language development and disorders.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations of students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple caseloads effectively.
  • Proficiency with assistive technology and communication devices is a plus.
