Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy services to elementary-age students with a variety of communication disorders.
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify each student's specific speech and language needs.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans and goals tailored to meet individual communication challenges.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to create comprehensive strategies for student progress.
- Deliver therapy services in both one-on-one and group settings, adapting interventions to suit the unique needs of each student.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of student progress, regularly updating treatment plans as required.
- Actively participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings, contributing insights into students' goals and progress.
- Stay current with the latest research and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- A valid Illinois license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field from an accredited program.
- Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility for ASHA certification.
- Previous experience working with elementary-age populations, particularly within an educational setting, is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in conducting speech and language assessments.
- A strong commitment to helping students achieve their speech and language goals.
- Flexibility to work full-time, totaling 37.5 hours per week, starting ASAP with an end date to be determined (FMLA coverage).
