Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech and language therapy services to students with diverse communication disorders.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to address the unique communication goals of each student.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to determine students' speech and language needs.
  • Compile and present detailed reports on assessment findings to inform decision-making processes.
  • Complete regular progress reports to track students' development and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date data on student progress and therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to create tailored strategies for student growth.
  • Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.

Qualifications:

  • A valid Virginia license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility for ASHA certification.
  • Previous experience working with preschool and elementary populations, especially within an educational setting, is preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in conducting speech and language evaluations.
  • Dedication to helping students achieve their speech and language goals.
  • Flexibility to work with full-time or part-time schedules.
  • Availability for an ASAP start with a contract duration through 6/13/2024.
