Position Title: School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and compassionate School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the 23/24 school year in Lexington, KY. As an SLP, you will play a vital role in supporting students' communication and language development, helping them overcome speech and language disorders that may impact their educational success. Your expertise will contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students can effectively communicate and engage in academic activities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech, language, and communication abilities
- Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment results
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to students, targeting areas such as articulation, phonology, expressive and receptive language, fluency, and pragmatic skills
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to implement strategies and accommodations in the classroom and school environment
- Monitor students' progress, document their performance, and make necessary adjustments to intervention plans
- Provide recommendations and training to teachers and support staff on strategies to promote students' communication skills and participation in the classroom
- Conduct screenings and assist in the identification of students with speech and language concerns
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required documentation
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Current Kentucky state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school setting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of pediatric speech and language disorders, assessments, and interventions
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
