Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in San Francisco, CA for the 2023-2024 school year. As an SLPA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to support the communication needs of students. The pay range for this role is: $35-47 an hr. depending on experiance.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting screenings and assessments of students' speech and language skills
- Implement therapy plans developed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist
- Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups
- Assist with data collection and progress monitoring for students' treatment goals
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other team members to support students' communication development
- Help create and maintain a positive and inclusive therapy environment
- Follow established procedures and guidelines for documentation and record-keeping
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to ethical standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field
- Valid certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapy techniques and strategies
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in a school setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Familiarity with assistive technology and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) systems is a plus
