Summer Opening! Physical Therapist (PT) Needed at Olympia, WA area school

Position Details:

• Job Title: Physical Therapist
• Contract Type: Short-term (July 5 - August 3, 2023)
• Hours: 3.5 hours per day (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
• Days: Monday through Thursday
• Location: Near Olympia, Washington

Responsibilities: As a Physical Therapist in our school, you will play a crucial role in assessing, planning, and implementing therapy interventions to support students' physical development during the summer program. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting assessments to evaluate students' motor skills, strength, range of motion, and mobility.
• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and in collaboration with the IEP team.
• Providing direct therapy services to students, targeting areas such as gross motor skills, coordination, balance, and functional mobility.
• Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into the students' educational plans and summer program activities.
• Monitoring student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary, and documenting all therapy sessions and student outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Washington.
• Previous experience working as a Physical Therapist, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
• Knowledge of the IEP process and familiarity with special education regulations.
• Strong understanding of motor development, therapeutic exercises, and evidence-based therapy techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
