We have an exciting opening for a Physical Therapist at a school near Olympia, Washington. This position is available for a specific period from July 5 to August 3, 2023. Position Details:
- Job Title: Physical Therapist
- Contract Type: Short-term (July 5 - August 3, 2023)
- Hours: 3.5 hours per day (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
- Days: Monday through Thursday
- Location: Near Olympia, Washington
Responsibilities: As a Physical Therapist in our school, you will play a crucial role in assessing, planning, and implementing therapy interventions to support students' physical development during the summer program. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting assessments to evaluate students' motor skills, strength, range of motion, and mobility.
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and in collaboration with the IEP team.
- Providing direct therapy services to students, targeting areas such as gross motor skills, coordination, balance, and functional mobility.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into the students' educational plans and summer program activities.
- Monitoring student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary, and documenting all therapy sessions and student outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Washington.
- Previous experience working as a Physical Therapist, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
- Knowledge of the IEP process and familiarity with special education regulations.
- Strong understanding of motor development, therapeutic exercises, and evidence-based therapy techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
