Position Details:
- Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist
- Contract Type: Part-time or Full-time
- Caseload: Elementary and Middle School
- Schedule: Flexible schedules available
- Location: Near Rochester, New York
Responsibilities: As an Itinerant Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and providing therapeutic interventions for students with speech and language disorders. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting comprehensive evaluations to assess students' speech, language, and communication skills.
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and in collaboration with the IEP team.
- Providing direct therapy services to students, targeting areas such as articulation, fluency, voice, language comprehension, and expression.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into the students' educational plans and classroom activities.
- Monitoring student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary, and documenting all therapy sessions and student outcomes.
- Traveling between multiple school sites to provide services to students across the district.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in New York.
- Previous experience working as a Speech Language Pathologist, preferably in a school setting.
- Knowledge of the IEP process and familiarity with special education regulations.
- Strong understanding of speech and language disorders, assessment tools, and evidence-based therapy techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel between school sites.
