Soliant is currently seeking an Summer school nurse.
As a Contracted School Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the overall health and safety of students during the summer break. You will provide comprehensive nursing care, health assessments, and health education services to students in accordance with the policies and procedures of the school district and relevant health guidelines. Your responsibilities will include:
- Administering first aid and emergency care as needed.
- Conducting health screenings, assessments, and immunization reviews.
- Managing medication administration and maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop individualized health plans for students with chronic health conditions.
- Maintaining the health office and equipment in a clean and organized manner.
- Participating in staff training related to health and safety protocols.
- Communicating effectively with parents/guardians regarding students' health concerns.
- Adhering to legal, ethical, and professional standards of nursing practice.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Jersey.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a pediatric or school health setting.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Strong knowledge of common childhood illnesses, medications, and immunization requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Proficient computer skills for maintaining electronic health records.
Duration and Compensation: This is a contract position that will run for the duration of the summer months. The exact start and end dates will be communicated during the hiring process. The compensation for this role will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
