Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) needed for the 23/24 SY in Pittsfield, MA

We are partnering with a school district to find a Teacher for the Visually impaired. Contract position in Pittsfield, PA this upcoming school year. 

Position Type: Full-Time Contract

Opportunities: K-12

Requirements:

• Valid teaching certification in Visual Impairments or Special Education with a focus on Visual Impairments
• Will consider candidates licensed outside of MA, but must be eligible to apply for reciprocity

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments in a school setting
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and educational strategies
• Adapt instructional materials and methods to meet the unique needs of students
• Teach braille, orientation and mobility skills, and assistive technology use
• Collaborate with other teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive support for students
• Conduct assessments and monitor student progress
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
