Job Description:

A school in Auburn, WA, is seeking a dedicated and qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join their team. This position is for the 2023-2024 school year, with a start date of ASAP and an end date of June 14, 2024.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Assess and adapt curriculum materials to meet the needs of visually impaired students.
  • Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and support staff to ensure a comprehensive education for students with visual impairments.
  • Provide support and training to classroom teachers and staff to help them accommodate the needs of visually impaired students.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and services provided.

Requirements:

  • Teaching Credential with Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Endorsement.
  • Experience working with students with visual impairments is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt and modify teaching methods to meet the unique needs of visually impaired students.
