Job Title: Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)

Location: Jordan, UT (approximately 25 minutes south of Salt Lake City, Utah)

Dates: August 14, 2023 - June 3, 2024

Hours: Full Time

Caseload: K-12; Knowledge in Braille is required**

Requirements:

• Valid Utah State Licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
• Strong knowledge and expertise in Braille.
• Experience working with students with visual impairments in a K-12 educational setting.

Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team in Jordan, Utah. As a TVI, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the education and development of students with visual impairments. Your expertise in Braille and your ability to provide specialized instruction will play a crucial role in helping students succeed academically and develop essential skills.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments in a variety of educational settings.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on student needs and goals.
• Assess students' visual functioning and determine appropriate accommodations and assistive technology.
• Teach Braille literacy skills and provide instruction in orientation and mobility techniques.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in technology and methodologies related to visual impairment education
