Teacher of the Visually Impaired

Soliant Health is working with a school district near Fairview, NY looking to hire a full-time teacher of the visually impaired. This position will be itinerant working a regular school schedule Monday through Friday. The TVI will be teaching servicing a K-12 caseload but conducting evaluations at the early childhood level.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience working in a classroom preferred but new grads are strongly encouraged to apply!

Employment Type:

• Full-time contract

Work Hours:

• 37.5 hours per week
• Monday-Friday
• Itinerant

Job Duties:

• Evaluations for the early childhood level
• Must be proficient in Braille
• Itinerant position-traveling between K-12 schools
• Prepare and implement annual education plan for each student based on district procedure
• Prepare lesson plans
