A healthcare role is available for an experienced Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to deliver rehabilitative care in a hospital setting. This contract position provides an opportunity to apply evidence-based clinical interventions for patients with cognitive and physical function disorders under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions including ADL retraining, therapeutic exercises, and use of assistive devices.
  • Assess patient progress and collaborate with supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatment plans and document outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Assist in discharge planning and provide consultation related to cognitive and physical recovery.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and comply with regulatory and clinical standards in documentation.
  • Participate in patient care meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
  • Support and supervise OT students under licensed Occupational Therapist direction.
  • Adhere to professional ethical standards and state licensing requirements.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Current state licensure or registration as an Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA).
  • Knowledge of NBCOT and AOTA practice guidelines.
  • Experience delivering occupational therapy services in clinical or hospital environments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in electronic health record documentation.
  • Commitment to compliance with regulatory policies and ethical practices.
