A contract opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide essential support to Occupational Therapists in promoting patients’ mobility and physical health. This role focuses on administering therapy treatments, encouraging patient progress, and contributing to improved quality of life through therapeutic and self-care activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting patients with exercises and treatment plans
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress to ensure effective treatment
- Collecting and updating patient medical history and records
- Encouraging patients throughout their recovery process
- Helping patients develop independence by teaching essential skills
- Supporting patients in regaining motor skills necessary for workforce re-entry
- Maintaining treatment rooms and equipment in good order
- Educating patients, families, and caregivers on techniques to support therapy programs
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Strong communication skills to encourage and instruct patients and caregivers
- Ability to observe and accurately record patient progress
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Experience in hospital or clinical therapy settings is preferred
