Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients’ functional levels according to physician orders and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Participate fully in interdisciplinary team processes, contributing to discharge planning, patient/family education, and adaptive equipment recommendations.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, as well as OT and COTA students, ensuring application of appropriate therapy techniques and supporting new staff orientation.
- Document evaluations, treatment plans, and daily progress notes accurately and in compliance with departmental policies.
- Promote and adhere to patient and employee safety protocols, including safe patient handling, infectious disease control, and hazard identification.
- Maintain professional appearance, punctuality, and a customer service-oriented demeanor with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to enhance patient care and engage in quality assurance activities.
- Provide education and training to patients and caregivers, ensuring understanding of therapy goals and equipment usage.
