Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient functional levels according to physician orders and medical records.
  • Develop and carry out individualized treatment plans aligned with patient and family goals.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, discharge planning, and patient/family education.
  • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and students, assisting with orientation and skill development.
  • Maintain documentation accuracy and complete all required progress notes and evaluations within set timeframes.
  • Promote safety awareness and adherence to safety policies related to patient handling, materials handling, and infection control.
  • Foster positive communication with patients, families, and team members, ensuring confidentiality and respect.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness, teamwork, and dedication to delivering superior quality care.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in hospital or rehab settings.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, evaluation, and treatment techniques.
  • Ability to supervise COTAs and students effectively.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Team-oriented approach and flexibility in scheduling.
