An occupational therapy professional is needed to provide specialized care in a dynamic inpatient acute care setting. This contract opportunity is based in Girdwood, AK, supporting rehabilitation services at a hospital with a comprehensive therapy team and a robust patient care environment. Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to inpatient acute care patients, addressing a daily caseload of 8 to 10 patients.
- Collaborate with a team of approximately 60 therapy providers including PTs, OTs, SLPs, and therapy assistants within the Rehabilitation Services unit.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EPIC) to document patient care accurately.
- Adhere to unit policies, procedures, and requirements including wearing light green scrubs on the 5th floor of the main hospital building.
- Work a rotating schedule of four 10-hour shifts with weekend coverage required approximately 2-3 weekends per month.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Active Occupational Therapy certification and licensure.
- Proven acute care occupational therapy experience is mandatory.
- Ability to work independently with a strong sense of initiative and sound clinical judgment.
- Completion or provisional status of Alaska state fingerprinting and background check is required before starting.
