An opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist to provide patient-centered care primarily in an outpatient setting, with occasional support in acute care environments. This contract position offers a dynamic role focused on assessment, treatment planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with established occupational therapy standards and physician directives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients’ physical, neurological, developmental, social, and cognitive functions through formal and informal testing.
  • Develop and update individualized treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance.
  • Coordinate and communicate treatment goals with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Recommend and facilitate procurement of adaptive and supportive equipment.
  • Document patient progress and treatment responses in compliance with regulatory and facility guidelines.
  • Participate in team meetings, program development, and community education to promote occupational therapy services.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate proficiency in technology and Microsoft Windows applications relevant to healthcare.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist with clinical experience in outpatient and acute care settings.
  • Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to supervise and collaborate with therapy assistants and support staff.
  • Effective communication skills with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Familiarity with documentation protocols and regulatory compliance.
  • Capacity to handle occasional physical demands such as lifting and mobility assistance.
