A Physical Therapist is needed to provide specialized therapy services focused on maximizing residents' functional abilities and independence in activities of daily living. This contract opportunity is located in Boston, MA, offering a chance to work in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Responsibilities include performing evaluative and therapeutic procedures under physician supervision, developing and implementing individualized therapeutic plans, and consulting with healthcare teams regarding patient care and discharge planning. This role also involves documenting treatment in electronic medical records, educating residents and caregivers, recommending assistive devices, and collaborating with Physical Therapist Assistants. Maintaining compliance with Medicare and other reimbursement regulations, providing in-service education, supervising assistant-level staff, and supporting new staff orientation are essential duties. Ensuring departmental cleanliness and ongoing professional development completes the scope of responsibilities.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or Doctorate preferred
- Active Physical Therapist license in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
- Excellent time management and documentation abilities

- Analytical and responsible team player
