Step into an impactful physical therapy role providing care in an acute inpatient hospital environment. In this contract position, you’ll deliver high-quality rehabilitation therapies to a diverse patient population. You will work with approximately 12 patients per day, helping them recover from general medical deconditioning, orthopedic procedures such as TKA, THA, and spinal surgeries, as well as chronic and acute conditions including CVA. Your primary patient coverage will include the Medical/Surgical floor, ICU, and ER.
Schedule/Hours:
- Primarily 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
- One shift per week 10:00 am – 6:30 pm
- Weekend coverage required every third weekend (with the preceding Friday and following Monday off)
- No holiday coverage necessary
Required Qualifications:
- Current and valid California Physical Therapist license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated experience with acute inpatient physical therapy
- Proficiency treating general medical, orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical conditions in an acute hospital setting
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Professional demeanor and adherence to the department dress code: burgundy polo with scrub or khaki bottoms
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions for patients in an acute inpatient setting
- Deliver evidence-based physical therapy for varying diagnoses
- Document treatment and patient progress accurately
- Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, and family members
- Participate in a comprehensive orientation and area-specific training to ensure success
