A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Physical Therapist seeking a contract role in Laurel, MD. This position focuses on providing expert care to adults, adolescents, and geriatric patients in a clinical environment emphasizing rehabilitation and recovery.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist (new graduates not eligible)
- Proficiency in conducting assessments such as fall risk evaluations and gross motor function
- Strong orthopaedic therapy skills addressing conditions like Achilles tendonitis, ACL tears, postoperative back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, disc herniation, and osteoarthritis
- Neurorehabilitation experience with patients affected by Brachial Plexus injuries, cerebrovascular accidents, Parkinson’s disease, and degenerative diseases
- Comfortable managing a caseload averaging 55 patient visits per week
- Familiarity with electronic health records, particularly NextGen
- Professional demeanor with a business casual dress code adherence
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based techniques
- Manage patient progress and documentation accurately within the EHR system
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding therapy goals and home care strategies
- Maintain productivity expectations while delivering high-quality, compassionate care
