An opportunity is available for an experienced Physical Therapist to provide high-quality outpatient therapy services within a hospital setting. This contract role is ideally suited for professionals dedicated to helping orthopedic, post-operative, mild neurological, and geriatric populations maximize their rehabilitation outcomes.
Schedule & Work Hours
- Monday through Friday; 8 or 10-hour shifts available
- Typical hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (potential early 7:00 am or late 6:00 pm shift with 10-hour days)
- No weekends, no on-call requirements
- Every other holiday coverage
Key Qualifications
- Valid, active Physical Therapist license in the State of Ohio
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Minimum of 1 year experience in outpatient physical therapy
- Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program (Bachelor’s required, Doctorate preferred)
- Specialty certifications (e.g., OCS, SCS, NDT, Lymphedema, Women’s Health) are advantageous
- Ability to work with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations as required
- Pewter gray scrubs required
Role Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for outpatients, focusing on restoring optimal function
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to set and achieve functional goals
- Manage a caseload of 10-12 patients per day in an orthopedic outpatient setting
- Document services and prognosis, communicate plans, and update as patient status evolves
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapy techniques, adaptive equipment, and wellness strategies
- Coordinate discharge planning and make recommendations for assistive or mobility devices
- Uphold clinical standards, participate in process improvement initiatives, and support staff training and education
