Physical Therapist in Springfield, OH

An opportunity is available for an experienced Physical Therapist to provide high-quality outpatient therapy services within a hospital setting. This contract role is ideally suited for professionals dedicated to helping orthopedic, post-operative, mild neurological, and geriatric populations maximize their rehabilitation outcomes.

Schedule & Work Hours

• Monday through Friday; 8 or 10-hour shifts available
• Typical hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (potential early 7:00 am or late 6:00 pm shift with 10-hour days)
• No weekends, no on-call requirements
• Every other holiday coverage

Key Qualifications

• Valid, active Physical Therapist license in the State of Ohio
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Minimum of 1 year experience in outpatient physical therapy
• Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program (Bachelor’s required, Doctorate preferred)
• Specialty certifications (e.g., OCS, SCS, NDT, Lymphedema, Women’s Health) are advantageous
• Ability to work with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations as required
• Pewter gray scrubs required

Role Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for outpatients, focusing on restoring optimal function
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to set and achieve functional goals
• Manage a caseload of 10-12 patients per day in an orthopedic outpatient setting
• Document services and prognosis, communicate plans, and update as patient status evolves
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapy techniques, adaptive equipment, and wellness strategies
• Coordinate discharge planning and make recommendations for assistive or mobility devices
• Uphold clinical standards, participate in process improvement initiatives, and support staff training and education
