Deliver exceptional patient care in an acute inpatient setting, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to assist individuals recovering from a range of diagnoses such as general medical/deconditioned conditions, total knee/hip arthroplasty, spinal surgeries, general orthopedic cases, and CVA. This contract position offers exposure in Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER units, supporting complex patient needs and delivering rehabilitative interventions that drive positive outcomes.

Schedule:

  • Primarily 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
  • One day a week from 10:00 am – 6:30 pm
  • Weekend rotation: Every third weekend (with Monday and Friday off the same week)
  • No holiday shifts required

Qualifications:

  • Current California Physical Therapist (PT) license
  • BLS certification
  • Previous experience in an acute inpatient PT environment is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER
  • Strong clinical reasoning and adaptability across varied patient populations

Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based physical therapy evaluations and treatment to acute care inpatients
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 12 patients per day, tailoring interventions to individual needs
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the broader rehab team for integrated care planning
  • Complete thorough clinical documentation and maintain compliance with hospital protocols
  • Engage in thorough orientation and cross-training in each unit to ensure comfort with hospital systems
