Deliver exceptional patient care in an acute inpatient setting, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to assist individuals recovering from a range of diagnoses such as general medical/deconditioned conditions, total knee/hip arthroplasty, spinal surgeries, general orthopedic cases, and CVA. This contract position offers exposure in Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER units, supporting complex patient needs and delivering rehabilitative interventions that drive positive outcomes.
Schedule:
- Primarily 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
- One day a week from 10:00 am – 6:30 pm
- Weekend rotation: Every third weekend (with Monday and Friday off the same week)
- No holiday shifts required
Qualifications:
- Current California Physical Therapist (PT) license
- BLS certification
- Previous experience in an acute inpatient PT environment is essential
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER
- Strong clinical reasoning and adaptability across varied patient populations
Responsibilities:
- Provide evidence-based physical therapy evaluations and treatment to acute care inpatients
- Manage a caseload of approximately 12 patients per day, tailoring interventions to individual needs
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the broader rehab team for integrated care planning
- Complete thorough clinical documentation and maintain compliance with hospital protocols
- Engage in thorough orientation and cross-training in each unit to ensure comfort with hospital systems
