Provide skilled outpatient physical therapy services to orthopedic and neurological patients in a supportive clinical setting focused on maximizing functional outcomes. This contract position is based in Xenia, OH, requiring flexibility to relocate or travel as local candidates are not being considered. The role involves working primarily with postoperative joint replacement, rotator cuff repair, mild neurological issues, and geriatric populations.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, plan, and implement physical therapy treatments per professional standards and state regulations.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans.
- Use standardized and non-standardized assessments to monitor progress and adjust interventions accordingly.
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapy goals, home exercises, and assistive device recommendations.
- Maintain accurate documentation, ensure pre-certifications, and support discharge planning.
- Participate in continuing education and department quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide community wellness instruction as needed.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Physical Therapist in good standing with the State of Ohio.
- BLS/CPR certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in outpatient physical therapy settings.
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program (Bachelor’s required; Doctorate preferred).
- Specialty certifications (e.g., OCS, SCS, NDT, Lymphedema) are a plus.
- Ability to manage a patient caseload averaging 10-12 patients per day on 8-hour shifts.
- Comfortable using transfer equipment and standard outpatient modalities.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 8-hour or 10-hour shifts available (typically 8 AM–5 PM, with occasional early or late starts)
- No weekends or on-call responsibilities
- Every other holiday off
