This opportunity in Baraboo, WI offers a specialized role for a Speech-Language Pathologist to assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders in a hospital environment. The position focuses on enhancing patients’ communication abilities and ensuring safe swallowing practices through comprehensive therapy.
Key Responsibilities: • Conduct direct patient care including evaluations, treatment planning, and therapy sessions for speech, language, and swallowing disorders • Complete thorough and timely documentation such as initial evaluations, plans of care, progress notes, and discharge summaries • Communicate with insurance providers to verify patient benefits • Prepare thoroughly for evaluation and therapy sessions to maximize treatment effectiveness • Educate multidisciplinary staff—including nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service workers—on patient evaluations, treatment plans, and current research findings • Develop and present in-service educational sessions to clinical teams • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care • Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas • Conduct patient reminder calls and assist patients and families with hospital navigation • Perform additional duties as assigned to support patient care and department goals
