A rewarding opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist with inpatient experience to support two medical centers in the region. This contract position offers hands-on work with specialized procedures such as video swallows, engaging with a diverse patient population within hospital inpatient departments.
Location
This role is based in Blue Springs, Missouri, providing care at two hospitals located nearby: one with 71 beds and another with 88 beds. Both facilities utilize the Meditech documentation system and uphold high standards of patient care, supported by experienced teams and modern technology. The assignment involves floating between these hospitals, offering variety and broad clinical exposure.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive inpatient speech therapy services, focusing on diagnosis and treatment of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Conduct video swallow studies to assess and manage patients with dysphagia.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Meditech.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Adhere to hospital policies and infection control protocols.
- Flexibly float between the two hospitals as patient needs dictate.
Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Current certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCCs) required.
- Proven inpatient experience in a hospital setting.
- Proficient in performing video swallow procedures.
- Ability to adapt to a floating schedule between hospitals.
- Professional appearance with scrub attire in accordance with dress code requirements.
Schedule
- Weekdays, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with hours varying depending on caseload.
