A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) role is available for a contract position in Humansville, MO, offering the opportunity to provide specialized therapy services within a hospital setting. This position involves comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients experiencing communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough screenings and evaluations to develop individualized plans of care.
- Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to support interventions.
- Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans and documenting outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide counseling and consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare providers.
- Collaborate effectively with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient care.
- Prepare detailed discharge summaries and ensure accurate documentation of all clinical activities.
- Participate in patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and necessary training sessions.
- Manage necessary durable medical equipment (DME) and supplies as required.
- Supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or student SLPs.
- Uphold ASHA and state licensure standards, adherence to code of conduct, ethics, and practice acts.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active ASHA certification and current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Experience in hospital or rehabilitation settings preferred.
- Ability to perform comprehensive assessments and deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Capability to document accurately in electronic medical record systems.
- Experience supervising or mentoring CFY or student clinicians is a plus.
