Join a dynamic inpatient therapy team specializing in speech-language pathology (SLP) serving two reputable medical centers in the Kansas City, MO area. This contract opportunity offers an engaging role where your advanced therapy skills and inpatient experience will directly impact patient outcomes through assessments and interventions, including video swallow studies.

Location: The position involves splitting your time between two hospitals:

  • Belton Regional Medical Center, located at 17065 US-71, Belton, MO, with 71 beds.
  • Lees Summit Medical Center, located at 2100 SE Blue Parkway, Lee’s Summit, MO, with 88 beds.

Both facilities utilize the Meditech documentation system and support a collaborative work culture with experienced staff and advanced clinical protocols. The role embraces a floating policy between the two hospitals, involving a manageable commute that offers diverse inpatient caseloads.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert inpatient speech therapy services, including assessments, treatment planning, and execution.
  • Conduct video swallow studies as part of advanced diagnostic procedures.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation using the Meditech system.
  • Adhere to hospital and unit-specific policies and professional dress code (scrubs required).

Schedule:

  • Weekday shifts, generally 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, adjusted based on caseload.
  • No on-call requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Speech-Language Pathologist certification with CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) required.
  • Proven inpatient therapy experience.
  • Proficiency in conducting video swallow evaluations.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and clinical documentation skills.
