A Speech-Language Pathologist is needed to provide therapy services in a healthcare setting in Shelbina, MO. This contract role involves evaluating, screening, and rehabilitating patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders. The ideal candidate will utilize evidence-based practices to develop and adjust individualized treatment plans, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory and clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments using standardized tools to diagnose speech and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop, implement, and modify treatment plans based on patient progress and clinical findings.
  • Provide counseling and consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare providers.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and multidisciplinary team members about patient status and treatment obstacles.
  • Document all clinical data accurately in electronic health records and prepare comprehensive discharge summaries.
  • Participate in patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and professional development meetings.
  • Supervise and mentor Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) therapists or student SLPs.
  • Follow ASHA guidelines, state licensure requirements, professional ethics, and conduct codes.
  • Coordinate the acquisition of necessary durable medical equipment and supplies.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active ASHA certification and current State Speech-Language Pathology licensure.
  • Experience in hospital or skilled nursing settings preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical and regulatory documentation standards.
  • Ability to provide patient-centered care and effective communication with healthcare teams.
  • Capable of supervising and guiding less experienced clinicians.
