A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to provide specialized speech and language assessment and therapy services for elementary students during the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time, contract position requires working in-person within an elementary school setting in Citrus Heights, CA, serving students with diverse communication needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct speech and language screenings, evaluations, and assessments for students referred for special education.
  • Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Provide direct therapy services to support communication development, facilitating academic and personal growth.
  • Consult with school personnel, families, and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care and effective communication strategies.
  • Assist in designing and implementing appropriate language programs for various classroom and community settings.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and track student progress in accordance with special education guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Active California Speech Language Pathologist license.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students in a school setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of special education processes, disability categories, and early learning or atypical impairments.
  • Strong assessment, evaluation, and consultation skills.
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Effective communication skills, including active listening and professional collaboration.
  • Commitment to supporting students with special education needs with empathy and professionalism.
  • Incorporation of a positive, engaging attitude to create an encouraging therapeutic environment.

Location: Citrus Heights, California
Duration: Contract through June 2026
Schedule: Full-time, in-person services
