Apply NowJoin a dedicated educational team as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) providing vital support to elementary students from TK to 6th grade. This full-time, contract position offers an opportunity to deliver in-person speech and language therapy and assessment services for the 2025-2026 school year, concluding June 6, 2026. Reporting directly to the Director of Special Education, the SLP will play a key role in shaping individualized plans that enhance communication and academic success for students with special education needs.
Location: Fairfield, CA
Duration: Contract through June 6, 2026
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Environment: Elementary school setting
Qualifications:
- Active California Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) License
- Commitment to supporting students with special education needs and their families
- Training and experience in speech and language assessment, evaluation, and consultation
- Ability to build positive relationships with staff, students, families, and community partners
- Knowledge of the special education process, procedures, and disability categories
- Effective communication skills, including active listening and appropriate channel use
- Previous school setting experience preferred
- Ability to foster a supportive and engaging environment with humor and lightheartedness
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech, language, articulation, and auditory screenings and evaluations for referred students
- Provide individualized therapy aimed at improving students’ communication and academic performance
- Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop, interpret, and implement IEP plans
- Offer consultative support to school personnel on diagnosis and remediation strategies
- Maintain clear communication with families, staff, and healthcare agencies to monitor student progress
- Assist in developing classroom and community language programs tailored to student needs
