This opportunity is for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) providing in-person therapy services to elementary students for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. The position is full-time and contract-based, supporting individualized speech and language assessment, therapy, and consultation within a special education setting.

Location: Sacramento, CA
Duration: Contract through June 2026
Work Setting: Elementary school, in-person

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct speech, language, articulation, and auditory screenings and assessments for students referred for special education services.
  • Collaborate as a member of a multidisciplinary team in developing and interpreting individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Provide direct therapy to students with speech and language impairments to promote their communication skills for academic and community success.
  • Consult with school personnel, families, and healthcare agencies to support student progress and development.
  • Assist classroom staff in developing effective language programs tailored to individual student needs.
  • Maintain professional communication and rapport with students, families, staff, and community partners.

Qualifications:

  • Active California Speech-Language Pathologist license (CA SLP License).
  • Experience or training in special education assessment, evaluation, and consultation.
  • Previous school-based SLP experience preferred.
  • Commitment to supporting students with special education needs and their families.
  • Understanding of special education processes, procedures, and disability categories.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, including active listening and collaborative approaches.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to incorporate humor and lightheartedness in the work environment.

Additional Details:

  • Reporting to the Director of Special Education.
  • Emphasis on supporting early learning and atypical impairments when applicable.
