A Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) position is available for the current school year in Concord, CA. This full-time, in-person role focuses on supporting elementary students within a school setting under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. The SLPA assists with delivering individualized speech-language interventions to students with communication disorders and helps implement educational support tailored to student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in delivering speech therapy programs designed by the supervising SLP.
- Administer and score assessments and progress monitoring tools.
- Collect case histories, complete observation checklists, and contribute to documentation such as evaluations and IEPs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, therapists, and other professionals to provide information and support student progress.
- Participate in meetings including IEP conferences and parent meetings.
- Transport students as needed for testing or therapy sessions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the speech-language program.
Qualifications:
- Active Speech Language Pathologist Assistant license required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Speech, Language and Hearing or Communication Disorders.
- Experience working in a school environment preferred.
- Training or experience in language and articulation therapy is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and implement new intervention strategies.
This contract role follows a Monday through Friday schedule, working directly with elementary-aged students in person.
