Apply NowA Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) position is available for the current school year in Concord, CA, working within an elementary school setting. This contract role offers the opportunity to support students with speech-language disorders under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. The position requires in-person work Monday through Friday and focuses on delivering tailored intervention services to meet each student’s unique educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized speech and language intervention programs developed by the supervising SLP.
- Assist in administering, scoring, and interpreting assessments under supervision.
- Collect case histories, complete observation checklists, and monitor student progress.
- Collaborate with therapists, teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student goals.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and in-service trainings.
- Assist with documentation including evaluations, progress reports, and communication logs.
- Provide student transportation to and from therapy or testing areas as needed.
Qualifications:
- Active Speech Language Pathologist Assistant license.
- Bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences or Communication Disorders.
- Previous experience in a school environment or as a paraprofessional preferred.
- Training or experience in language and articulation therapy is desirable.
- Strong communication skills, including active listening and effective two-way communication.
- Positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to learn new techniques.
