A Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) opportunity is available for the current school year in an elementary school setting located in Delano, CA. This full-time, in-person contract role supports students by delivering speech-language intervention services under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist. The role focuses on helping students with speech-language disorders through individualized educational support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing programs designed by the supervising Speech Language Pathologist to improve students’ speech skills.
  • Collect case histories, complete observation checklists, and assist in administering and scoring assessments.
  • Support the Speech Language Pathologist during student evaluations and collaborate with parents and school staff.
  • Conduct progress monitoring and assist in documentation preparation for evaluations, IEPs, and progress reports.
  • Attend IEP meetings, parent conferences, and staff in-services to provide information on student goals.
  • Transport students to and from testing or therapy areas as needed.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support student success.

Qualifications:

  • Active Speech Language Pathologist Assistant license.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Speech, Language and Hearing or Communication Disorders.
  • Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
  • Background in language and/or articulation therapy is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to listen actively and work collaboratively.
  • Positive, adaptable demeanor with a willingness to learn and implement new techniques.

Schedule & Location:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Position located in Delano, CA.
  • Elementary school environment requiring in-person presence.
