Job Description:

Our healthcare staffing agency is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Operating Room Technologist (CVOR Tech) to join our team for a travel contract in York, PA.

As a CVOR Tech, you will work alongside a team of healthcare professionals to provide care for patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures. You will be responsible for setting up and preparing the operating room, assisting the surgeon during the procedure, and monitoring the patient's vital signs. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and sterilization of equipment and supplies. Communication and teamwork skills are a must for this role.

Responsibilities:

-Prepares and maintains the operating room with instruments, supplies, and equipment needed.

-Assembles equipment according to the surgeon's preference; assists the surgeon during the procedure with proper passing of instruments and supplies.

-Maintains aseptic technique throughout the surgical procedure.

-Operates and troubleshoots specialized equipment such as heart-lung machine, intra-aortic balloon pump, and pacemakers.

-Monitors the patient's vital signs and reports any changes to the anesthesia provider or surgeon.

-Assists with patient positioning and transferring during surgery.

-Performs post-operative duties such as dressing changes and patient transfer to recovery.

-Cleans and sterilizes equipment and supplies.

-Communicates and collaborates with the surgical team, anesthesia team, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.

Qualifications:

-Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program.

-Certification as a Cardiovascular Operating Room Technologist (CVOR Tech).

-Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in the operating room setting.

-Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

-Ability to think critically and make quick decisions in high-stress situations.

-Experience with specialized equipment such as heart-lung machine, intra-aortic balloon pump, and pacemakers.

-Availability to travel to York, PA for a full-time, travel contract position.
