Schedule: 6:30am-3:00pm M-F
Responsibilities: Provides care for the optimal patient experience, by adhering to the organizations mission, vision, and foundations. Prepare the procedure room by setting up appropriate equipment, instruments, and supplies utilizing physician preference cards. Collect, verify, and communicate patient historical information (including medication and allergies) prior to start of case. Assist with patient preparation including, positioning and pre-procedure skin preparation. Ensure patient comfort and understanding of ordered exam. Make available appropriate supply/instrumentation in proper position, hands supply/instruments to physician as needed. Anticipate and responds appropriately to surgeon’s needs and maintains good rapport with surgeon. Perform scrub functions and demonstrate sterile technique and maintains throughout the procedure. Ensures optimal visualization of anatomy by directing radiographic / imaging equipment. Assists in proper maintenance and cleaning of equipment and maintaining appropriate par levels of supplies and communicates to appropriate ordering personnel. Demonstrate flexibility in meeting the needs of the Center. Maintain all required licenses and certifications. Assist visitors, staff and physicians, utilizing good guest relations. Respond in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician. Attend staff meetings and educational opportunities. Prioritize job responsibilities to facilitate optimum patient care and utilization of resources.
Required Qualifications / Certifications / Licenses / Registrations Completion of VI Program or a minimum one-year experience as a diagnostic radiologic technologist required. Completion of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited program in radiology required. Demonstrate competence in cultural and age-related needs of the patient population Knowledge of the proper application of sterile technique (OSHA standards) required. Current Registered Technologist (RT), radiography (R) American Registry Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registration required. Current Nebraska state medical radiographer license required. Basic Life Support certification (BLS) required. Advance Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) required. Must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with working in a high-volume angiography department preferred. Proficient with vascular / neuro imaging equipment in the interventional procedures labs preferred. Proficiency with invasive ultrasound, non-invasive ultrasound and peripheral doppler procedures preferred. Certification by the American Registry Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Cardiovascular Intervention CVIT and/or Vascular Intervention (VI).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, staff and physicians. Able to organize and perform multiple tasks, problem-solve and prioritize work assignments. Ability to follow through and to perform numerous tasks at once and work with minimal supervision.
