Position Details: As a School Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in promoting students' overall well-being by providing counseling, support, and resources to address their social, emotional, and behavioral needs.

Job Description:

  • Position: School Social Worker
  • Type: Full Time
  • Start/End Dates: September 5, 2023 - June 7, 2024
  • Hours: 40 hours per week

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with disabilities, including those identified with OHI, SLI, ASD, EI, CI.
  • Address social/emotional needs of students through counseling and resources.
  • Support students with Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP) when required.
  • Dedicated one day a week to at-risk students without a School Social Worker in their IEP.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to create a supportive environment.

Requirements:

  • Must meet the state of Michigan's requirements to practice social work.
  • Hold a 310 letter to practice special education in a school (waiver possible).
  • Enrolled in a program to acquire a 310 letter if not currently possessed.
