Qualifications:

• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (RID or NAD)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience interpreting in educational settings (preferred)
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Comfortable with virtual communication platforms and technology
• Ability to interpret and transcribe spoken English into ASL for students and staff
• Experience working with students of varying ages (K-12) and diverse learning needs
• Excellent communication and time management skills

Position Overview:
Soliant Education is seeking a Virtual Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to work with students in St. Paul, MN. In this remote role, you’ll support the educational experience of deaf or hard-of-hearing students by interpreting classroom lessons, meetings, and other school activities. What You’ll Do:

• Provide real-time sign language interpretation for students during virtual classes, meetings, and activities
• Ensure communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and teachers, staff, and peers
• Work closely with educators to adjust and ensure effective communication strategies for each student
• Interpret lectures, discussions, and educational content into ASL
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure students’ individual needs are met
• Adhere to professional interpreter ethics and confidentiality requirements
