Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education (SPED) Teacher to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year in Independence, OR. As a SPED Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing individualized support and instruction to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive the tools and resources necessary to succeed academically and socially.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique strengths and challenges.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other support staff to create inclusive learning environments and promote student success.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to address evolving needs and goals.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student assessments, progress reports, and IEP meetings.
- Stay current with best practices and research in the field of special education, incorporating new strategies and techniques into instructional practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid Oregon teaching license with SPED endorsement.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorders, emotional/behavioral disorders, and specific learning disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school community.
