Job Title: Self-Contained Behavior Support Teacher (Elementary and Middle School)

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Self-Contained Behavior Support Teacher to join our team in Winder, GA. This position requires expertise in providing specialized education to elementary and middle school students with behavioral challenges. As a Self-Contained Behavior Support Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic and social-emotional growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with behavioral needs.
  • Provide instruction in all subject areas, adapting teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Utilize evidence-based behavioral interventions to support students in managing their emotions and behaviors.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive support system for students.
  • Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust teaching strategies as needed to promote academic and behavioral success.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • General Special Education certification required.
  • Certification in all subjects (Elementary and Middle School).
  • Prior experience working in a school setting, preferably with students who have behavioral challenges.
  • Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
