Soliant, in collaboration with school districts in Berrien Springs, MI, is actively seeking experienced Special Education Teachers for contract positions. Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Michigan teaching license with Special Education endorsement.
  • Certification in Learning Disabilities or other relevant special education endorsements preferred.
  • At least one year of recent experience working as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Proficiency in assessing student progress, analyzing data, and adjusting instructional strategies to meet individual learning goals.
  • Dedication to fostering inclusive and equitable learning environments for all students, including those with disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, incorporating appropriate goals, objectives, and accommodations based on student needs and assessments.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities in various academic subjects, adapting instructional materials and methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers to ensure that students with disabilities have access to the general education curriculum and necessary accommodations and modifications.
  • Assess student progress using a variety of formal and informal assessments, collect and analyze data, and use results to inform instructional planning and decision-making.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic concerns, and collaborate with them as partners in the education process.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and other school-based initiatives to enhance special education services and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including IEP documentation, progress reports, and other required paperwork in compliance with state and federal regulations.
