We are seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher for a full-time contract position in Jackson, California. This position is for the remainder of the current school year and entire 2024-2025 school year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with special education students and their families, along with a commitment to meeting all local and state regulations governing special education services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid California teaching credential with Special Education authorization
- Experience working with special education students and families
- Knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and special education laws and regulations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Job Duties:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in various academic and functional areas
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other support staff to ensure the inclusion and success of students with disabilities in the general education setting
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to share progress, discuss concerns, and collaborate on support strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings, student study teams, and other meetings as required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and behavior
- Stay informed about best practices in special education and implement evidence-based instructional strategies
- Provide guidance and support to paraprofessionals and other staff working with students with disabilities
