New Special Education Teacher (SPED) Opportunity near Leyden, IL
 
 Attention! We are on the search for a capable and dedicated LBS1 endorsed Special Education Teacher to take their skills to a school near Leyden, Illinois and work with our students for the 2023–2024 school year. This will be an onsite assignment and with the New Year upon us, the director is eager to schedule virtual or in-person interviews & aiming to hire promptly!

Job Description:

  • Best Start Date: 3/11/24
  • Projected End Date: June 14, 2024
  • Contract Renewal: Contingent upon the candidate's success on the job assignment.
  • Full-Time: 32 - 37.5 hrs/week
  • Caseload: 7th & 8th grade students, Self-Contained classroom, around 8 students with moderate mental/emotional disabilities (not physical) & school-avoidant/ school-phobic behavior.
  • Duties include evaluations, IEPs, direct/indirect services, meetings, and consults.

 
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in special education or related field
  • Must have PEL with Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1)
  • Must have all SPED credentials for State.
  • Laws of Special Education laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and the ability to tailor instructions to meet diverse learning speeds.
