Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Virtual Tutor to provide part-time tutoring support to a student in Dearborn, MI. This unique opportunity involves offering virtual academic support and guidance to a student who is suspended for the remainder of the school year. The Virtual Tutor will play a crucial role in ensuring continuity of learning and providing targeted support to help the student maintain academic progress and develop essential skills. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a positive impact on a student's educational journey during a challenging time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide virtual tutoring sessions tailored to the student's individual needs, focusing on academic subjects and skill areas as identified by the student's IEP or educational plan.
- Utilize effective teaching strategies, resources, and materials to engage the student and promote understanding, confidence, and independence in learning.
- Implement behavior management techniques and strategies to support the student's engagement, participation, and success in virtual learning environments.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to develop and implement a personalized tutoring plan, monitor progress, and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders regarding the student's progress, challenges, and achievements, ensuring transparency and collaboration in supporting the student's educational and behavioral needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Fully credentialed in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with behavioral challenges and diverse learning needs.
- Strong knowledge of effective teaching strategies, behavior management techniques, and virtual learning platforms.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to the unique needs and challenges of virtual tutoring.
