Primary responsibilities include setting up and operating equipment needed for minimally invasive procedures.

IR Techs can earn either an associate’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited program. In addition, passing a certification exam from the state or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT Radiography Exam). Specific requirements may vary according to state. As a travel IR Tech, duties remain the same although some requirements may vary according to which state your assignment is located in. Typically travel assignments will be short-term contract positions, giving you the ability to travel to new areas often. Travel IR Techs are often filling in for a team member who is on temporary leave or filling in to give the healthcare team time to fill the position permanently.
