Assistive Technology Specialist in Alexandria, VA

A school-based contract position is available in Alexandria, VA for an Assistive Technology Specialist. This role focuses on enhancing the educational experience by supporting students and staff with various assistive technology tools and solutions.

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluating student needs and recommending appropriate assistive technology devices and software
• Training educators, support staff, and students on the effective use of assistive technology
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) incorporating technology supports
• Providing troubleshooting and ongoing support for technology implementation in the classroom
• Staying current with advancements in assistive technology devices and software

Desired qualifications:

• Experience as an Assistive Technology Specialist or similar role in education settings
• Strong knowledge of assistive technology products and their applications in schools
• Ability to assess and recommend technology solutions tailored to individual student needs
• Effective communication and training skills to work with educators and students
