Make a direct impact by supporting K-12 learners as an Assistive Technology Specialist in a dynamic educational community near Daly City, CA. This contract opportunity runs from August 1, 2026, through June 2, 2027, and focuses on providing vital onsite expertise to empower students and staff through the use of assistive and augmentative technology.

Key Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid state and educational license required for an Assistive Technology Specialist.
  • Experience supporting students using assistive technology (AT) and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive functional evaluations, develop IEPs, and document student progress.
  • Skilled in curriculum modification and creating accessible classroom environments for diverse learners.
  • Collaborative mindset—comfortable working with occupational therapists, physical therapists, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience traveling between multiple school sites preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate student needs and recommend AT/AAC solutions for curriculum and classroom accessibility.
  • Consult and support staff on integrating AT in academic settings, ensuring adaptations are effective and meaningful.
  • Manage and participate in due process by conducting evaluations and developing and monitoring individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Serve as an itinerant resource, providing ongoing support, training, and technology troubleshooting for staff and students.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends and best practices in assistive technology and share knowledge with educational partners.
