Key Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Assistive Technology Specialist, Braillist, or a related educational support position
• Proficiency in braille transcription, including familiarity with current braille codes and technology
• Comfortable evaluating, recommending, and implementing assistive technology solutions for students
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with educators, students, and families
• Background working within school settings preferred
• Relevant certification or credential in assistive technology or braille transcription is highly valued

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to determine individual student needs for assistive technology and braille materials
• Recommend, set up, and train students and staff in the use of appropriate assistive devices and software
• Transcribe and produce learning materials in braille
• Collaborate with educational teams to support student learning goals and IEPs
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in assistive technology and braille standards
• Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting
